Chris DeRuyscher is the Sr. Director of Ballpark Entertainment and Productions for the Texas Rangers after spending 13 seasons with the Kansas City Royals. His responsibilities include game day producing, overseeing production elements, and staffing for one of Major League Baseball’s most giant high-definition video boards.
He is currently a Past President of IDEA and was the Host City Chairman for the 29th Annual IDEA Conference held in Kansas City in 2011. That year, CrownVision was awarded Golden Matrix Awards for Best Production ~ Baseball, Best Production ~ Overall, and Best Show Open. DeRuyscher also received the President’s Award. At the 2012 conference, CrownVision was awarded its second straight Best Show Open.
Before joining the Royals, he worked at HuskerVision for four years at the University of Nebraska, where he received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. His sports background includes summer internships with FOX 4 Sports, Kansas City, in 1998 and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999.
