Way Nominee has Helped to Further the Industry:
Peter Bull has been with the Los Angeles Angels since 1994. In that time, the Angels have been known for having one of the best presentations in all of sports. Throughout his career with the Angels, his team has always been nominated for Golden Matrix awards and lay claim to many of the trophies awarded each year. Besides his World Series ring, Peter’s claim to IDEA fame is the Rally Monkey. This was the in-game hype feature created by his entertainment staff in June of 2000. It went from a midseason dull drum video gag to international fame and after 20+ years, it’s still featured at Angels games. Pete will always give the credit to his staffers who had the original idea. With his guidance, it became the Game Presentation legend that it is.
As a major contributor to the IDEA organization as a long-time conference attendee, he brought his veteran leadership and knowledge to the always changing baseball group. As previously mentioned, with Peter, the Angels are perennial Golden Matrix nominees constantly raising the bar of game entertainment for all members of the organization. His 27 years with one team, through four different owners, is a feat not often seen in our industry. Through his time with the Angels, he has helped guide the careers of his junior employees and has always been a reliable source for his baseball counterparts and the event presentation business. Now after a long-distinguished career, Pete will be retiring in May and deserves consideration for the IDEA Hall of Fame.
Years of IDEA Membership: 20
Years in the Industry: 27
Special Consideration: He’s retiring and worked for the same team. Certainly not industry standard.
