Narrative:
Sarah Rose has served both the Event Entertainment industry and the IDEA Community for over 25 years. She has dedicated her career to supportinng customers and growing employees at Daktronics, while donating her time and energy to many volunteer positions for IDEA. She embodies all the qualities of a member of the IDEA Hall of Fame.
When Sarah first began her career at Daktronics, she was responsible for helping customers; setting up, configuring, and teaching the operation of the event production system. This work took Sarah across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Today, Sarah is responsible for over 500 employees as the Vice President of Global Services for Daktronics. She is a dedicated professional with demonstrated strengths in benchmarking analysis, strategic planning and roadmap development, journey mapping, and workshop facilitation.
Daktronics has been a mainstay at the IDEA Conference for decades, and Sarah has played a large role in the company’s consistent support of IDEA and its members. This dedication has been recognized by IDEA’s members, who voted to present Daktronics with the Allied Achievement Award 14 times (1999-2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2019). While Sarah would no doubt attribute these awards to a team effort, she was individually recognized to receive the President’s Award in 2009, which honored her personal dedication to the IDEA organization.
Sarah has volunteered her time in many positions on multiple committees throughout her years as an IDEA member. She served as Chair of the Conference Content Committee from 2009-2011, helping to shape the educational offerings at the Conference. From 2011-2015, Sarah served as the Allied Member Representative on the Execuve Board. In this role, Sarah helped bridge communication between IDEA Partners and the Executive Board. She helped to advance the organizaon and ensure that the Conference is a rewarding experience for all attendees.
Currently, Sarah is serving on the Hall of Fame Committee, the Inclusion and Outreach Committee, and the Women’s Committee. On the Women’s Committee, in particular, Sarah has volunteered to sit on panels and lead discussions regarding the growth of women in our industry. She serves as a mentor and role model for all young women looking to advance their careers.
All of us in this industry work long hours, which makes it difficult to commit to volunteering our “extra” time to organizations such as IDEA. Sarah Rose belongs in the IDEA Hall of Fame because she never refuses a request for her time if it means helping the members of IDEA, and is the first to volunteer when assistance is needed. Sarah’s years of commitment to IDEA make her well-deserving of this honor.
