Achievements / Innovations:
Scott and his business Quince Imaging has changed the industry several times over. At the start of his career he was pivotal in converting some of the earliest scoreboards to projection video displays in a time that was unheard of. In the 2010’s he began to leave his true lasting legacy by popularizing court and rink projection, leading Quince to be the first provider of temporary and permanent projection systems for the ice and court. Once seen as a fad, now 10 years later is on a path to 100% saturation in the NHL, no doubt due to Scott’s efforts. Despite these successes, he has continued to lead’s Quince’s innovations in recent years, growing offerings in Augmented Reality, Mixed reality, and especially during covid offering the Unique virtual fan solutions that help many teams make it through difficult times.

It is critical to note outside of the other items listed here, Scott’s mentorship of his team has helped propel not only Quince, but some of it’s team members beyond Quince to high ranking positions in other foundational IDEA member organizations.

Scott is truly representative of the character of this organization. As a pioneer, he has worked with numerous manufacturers, agencies, and consultants all of which are constantly jockeying for pole position. Despite the competitive nature of the “vendor side” of IDEA Scott has always stayed neutral and steadfast in his support for a positive experience for the member teams of IDEA. As others have focused on increasing contract size, market share, and social media impressions, Scott’s focus on providing innovative solutions, sound technology, and freely sharing ideas has helped the industry immeasurably, whether or not it was always in the best interest of Quince.
Special Consideration:
While I may be an employee of Scott’s, it is important to note I felt naturally compelled to submit this nomination. Despite his achievements, Scott is a humble man, choosing to focus on technical excellence over recognition. Despite his long and successful tenure, he has seen little recognition until his growing staff has been determined to change this.
