IDEA is a not-for-profit professional association for organizations in the Game and Event Presentation industry that is governed by an elected Executive Board with day-to-day operations conducted by office staff. The Standing Committees direct and make recommendations to the Board about the various segments of IDEA which they oversee. Members are encouraged to be active in the direction of IDEA by participating on one of the various committees or running for elected office.

Navigating the Mental Game in Video & Event Production In this session, you will learn practical insights to tune out the noise, achieve mental clarity, and elevate your personal well-being while excelling in this fast-paced industry. Join Dr. Aubrey Harrison, Clinical Psychologist and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Leader & Expert, to learn creative strategies to improve your mental wellbeing, and how to foster creativity and a sense of belonging in the places we work.
Everyone has a story to tell! Sometimes it goes well, and sometimes it doesn't. Join this interactive discussion about the year’s best practices and biggest blunders! Attendees should submit a video or photo to share their game-day triumphs and cringe-worthy train wrecks. We’ll then discuss these moments in an open forum general session. Attendees will be asked to submit photos and videos prior to attending.

Aspiring live event producers / show callers & directors, active producers, directors, & show-callers with at least one year of experience in live event producing, show calling &/or directing live events

Manager & senior managers who are key decision-makers for strategy, budgets, and staffing

ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment directors, managers, & and coordinators who oversee entertainment bookings, programming, special effects, special events, and ceremonies and/or manage or oversee entertainment teams and talent (i.e., hosts, DJs, dance groups, mascots, etc.)

PRODUCTION

Shooters/editors, content directors/creators, production managers, and post-production specialists who create content for multiple platforms, motion graphic managers, motion graphic designers, editors, aspiring motion graphic designers, and post-production enthusiasts, producers/editors, videographers, editors, and aspiring

IDEA offers a number of ways to get involved in the organization. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and work with your peers while bettering the organization. Everyone is invited to attend whichever committee meeting sounds fun to them! Committees will meet during lunch.

SOMETHING FOR STUDENTS IDEA 101: Thursday, April 27 @ 6:00 pm central time (open to all registered students and recent grads) Panelists will discuss various opportunities available within the Event Presentation industry and offer helpful tips on how to prepare yourself for employment in the field. This virtual session will include a Q & A segment, and be held on April 27.
